B&W Tuesday 9-10-13

Hiking in the Mt. Baker National Forest on a foggy summer day limited our views of the sky scraping mountain peaks but emphasized the beautiful rocks and landscape under our feet.

For some reason I always think of the poem “Mont Blanc” when I see your photos of the mountains. Quite beautiful!

I enjoy all your pics, but I really love your black and whites. Do you have your photographs enlarged and hanging on your wall? I can imagine how brilliant a wall full of your black and whites would look.

Sadly I haven’t developed a print in close to 10 years. 😦 Thanks for the gentle reminder though – it would be nice to see them together and I’m really happy you like my black and whites!

Thanks Amy! The subtle, real life colors were so pretty on the mountain but they didn’t translate very well in my photo so I thought black and white would give it a second chance. 🙂

There seems to be less glacier on top.

This angle is a little deceptive in black and white. These are actually smaller rocks that were right in front of us with a little bit of unmelted snow and small trees. It does look like a distant mountain though with a small glacier!
