Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light

Take a look around you. Choose one of the light sources you see, and make it the focus of your challenge entry.

Ben – The Daily Post

Light

This week Ben asks us to focus on a point of light and feature it in a post for the Weekly Photo Challenge.  I wish we had our Christmas lights up and ready for the season but since we just got home from a wonderful Thanksgiving visit with family our lights are still in storage waiting for another day.

This photo is from our walk yesterday afternoon while the turkey and trimmings roasted in the oven.  My dad, Ryan and I thought it would be fun to see the spawning salmon in Bellingham, WA and just as we walked across the creek the setting sun broke free from the clouds and lit up the rushing water below.

Thanks Patrick! We timed our walk just right. 🙂 The sun sets so early here this time of year, It’s hard to think of sunset at 4:15 pm…

Lisa, That is one of those money shots that you just can’t plan. Our sunsets are about 30 minutes behind yours. Limits the time I get after work to go for a hike. No doubt in the next few weeks I will arrive at work before sunrise and leave after sunset. Patrick

Yes, the leave and return in the dark times are tough here too. It’s the price we pay for sunlight at 10pm in the summer. I have bright coats and flashlights for walks that go into the dark but it isn’t the safest time to be out.

Several years ago I found a dog leash made of 3M reflective cloth. With Maggie on the end it looks like a light saber…movement and all.

Isn’t it amazing how far phone cameras have come. I can’t remember the last the I used a real camera.

I know, I bring my camera along sometimes but just end up using my phone. It is so handy and fun to use.
