Contrast and tone work well in monochrome.

Thank you Sally. I liked the color version ok but once I saw it in B&W thought this was the better choice to post. I’m glad you appreciate it as well.

This is really nice. I like the moss covered slats and the one slat missing.

You caught two points I like as well. I wondered if anyone else would notice the missing slat. 🙂

Love it! The missing slat…gives it a slight air of desolation, admirably suited to Black & White 🙂

What a beautiful shot, so full of aged textures as though it has been there forever, becoming part of the landscape.
Like you I get drawn to photograph fences….and walls. I think I’m fascinated by the feeling of the edge of something 🙂

Thanks Seonaid! I think you’re right, the feeling of being on the edge and possibly looking over is intriguing. Walls and fences are definitely both favorites. 🙂

And of course edges are where things change…..from one space to another…..and so there is excitement about something new coming into view 🙂
There having explained it to myself my fascination now seems utterly understandable!!

It’s such a lovely old fence, and definitely deserves a pic and promotion on your blog. Lisa. 🙂

Thank you. 🙂 They have an interesting, large corner yard too, I may have to take a closer look…
