B&W Tuesday 1-28-14

Since my last Black & White Tuesday post was all about holiday shopping and hot donuts  I thought you might like to see our snack-time view looking over Seattle’s Westlake Park.

Thanks Jim, the lines, patterns and circles are what caught my attention first before noticing all the people. 🙂

I have never stood in that spot before. Next visit, I will seek it out. What great geometric patterns!

I’ve been up there before but it never made much of an impression. This time all I could see was lights and patterns and it looked completely different!

Being a designer, I find this picture fascinating. I spent quite a bit of time looking at all the details and how the whole scene flows like a meandering stream. Not sure if that was the intent but that is my impression. Simple geometric shapes in the form of pavers can be art.

Thanks Patrick, the geometric shapes are what keep me coming back to this picture too. I really like the color version because it matches my memories of the day but in black and white the patterns are more prominent so I decided to post it this way and save the color for myself.

You know Seattle and Starbucks, there is one on every corner and yes, I stopped to get a Mocha earlier. 🙂 There is even one hidden in this picture too – the building at the top of the frame is a full size Starbucks. I’m glad you like it.

I like the slight vignetting on the image – and the comment about the donuts to sit on *smile* – well done.

Looking at your home page, this image captured my attention right away. I love patterns, lines and angles – and architectural photos are some of my favorites. I hardly noticed the people at first. It adds interest to an already great picture. I am sometimes surprised by what I capture in a photo when I look at it later.

Thanks Robin, I usually notice architecture before people too. 🙂 Looking at my photos later can be an interesting experience when I finally notice what I missed when I was actually there.
