I’ve posted a few photos of this beach log but I haven’t shown it from this angle before. Is it just me or does anyone else think the old roots look like fingers reaching into the ocean?

That’s a powerful sculptural shape that is weathered by nature. Wonderful beach art. Happy Phoneography Challenge.
Thanks Sally, I”m always looking for a new angle to show this old tree… glad you like today’s choice.

Lisa, it also reminds me of a big something biting down–what you see as fingers could be teeth and we can see through the open mouth to the other side. Fun…a bit like seeing things in clouds.

I see the teeth now. 🙂 Yes, it is like spotting things in the clouds…
A dainty dip into the finger bowl.
Yes it is. 🙂
😀
Thanks.
It does look like a lady’s fingers.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees them. 🙂
Yes, you;re right, Lisa. It’s quite amazing and a bit spooky. 😯
Thanks Sylvia, maybe I should have saved the spooky shot for Halloween. 🙂
It does… Awesome capture, Lisa!
Thanks Amy!
I see something,.. But for the sake of keeping things PG rated, I’ll refrain from sharing. 😉
Uh oh, now I have to know! Enquiring minds and all. 🙂
Okay, PG version is a wishbone. I’ll tell you the R version when we meet for our Moscow Mules. 🙂
It’s a deal. 🙂
Beautiful black and white photo, Lisa. It looks like a big crocodile biting down into the water; the texture is wonderful.
I’m glad you like it! It’s fun to hear what everyone sees in the shape. 🙂
Now you come to mention it, that’s exactly right! 🙂
Oh good. 🙂
It’s like a graceful arm and hand.
Thanks Andra, graceful is a good word. 🙂
Nice. Makes me think of a nice deserted beach.
Thanks, for a pretty popular spot it was really quiet this trip.
It does indeed. I think the black and white makes it so organic.
Great capture !!!
Thanks Isadora, I’m glad you like it. 🙂
Agreed with you about the fingers, and actually it looked like arm and hand reaching down to the water.
Ooh, thanks for sharing your impressions. 🙂
It’s definitely a hand with fingers reaching the water! Gorgeous … and love that this post is all about perspective. It changes everything!
Thanks Terri!
Yes, I DO see fingers… almost an arm and hand as well. Wonderful image for B&W phoneography!
I’m glad you see it too!

I did not think of them as fingers 🙂 Amazing find, Lisa and a lovely take!
Thanks Paula, I’m glad you liked it and always appreciate your thoughtful comments. 🙂
