I’ve still got a few hours left in my Monday to post tonight, sorry to those who read this on Tuesday. 🙂 Sally’s challenge for the second Monday of every month is Macro photography and each time I have to admit it’s the week that gives me the most trouble. Usually I end up looking for something within arms reach for inspiration which leads me to a detail from my Mother’s Day card… the Queen Bee.
Posted as part of Lens and Pen by Sally’s weekly Phoneography and Non-SLR Digital Devices Photo Challenge.
It’s a sweet take on macro, honoring its emphasis on close up and personal as well as a tribute to your motherhood. Happy Photo Challenge.
Thanks, Sally. 🙂

That’s a great Mother’s Day card… 🙂
Thanks, Dawn. 🙂 Ryan was pretty excited to show me.
With the coloring and the sepia tone of the background, it looks kinda like a tattoo.
I thought so too, Jim. 🙂 Actually my husband has been thinking about a bee tattoo for years that looks a lot like this one but so far no ink…
Love it!
Thanks. 🙂
How lovely to be the ‘Queen Bee’ in your house, Lisa. 🙂
It was nice for a day, Sylvia. 🙂
Very apropos for a mother! I like to think of myself as the Queen Bee, too. Let’s not let anyone in our homes forget that!
I agree! They just need a little “gentle” reminding now and then. 🙂
Great idea! This week is always the one I dread. I am not a Queen Bee at macro. 😉
It’s nice to know I’m not alone with the Macro issues. 🙂 This is why I usually end up posting a photo of what ever is right in front of me at the last minute!

It’s nice to be Queen. Cool card and a good macro subject. I agree that it sort of looks like a tattoo. I take a lot of macro shots, hoping to get it right one day.
Thanks, Robin. 🙂 Taking lots of photos and crossing my fingers for one good one is my normal plan too.
I have a strange urge to listen to Queen……….
Thank you. Now I am.
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning – very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro – magnifico
🙂
Yep. That one. 🙂
very cool – and monday or Tuesday – does not matter to me. 🙂
Oh good, thanks Yvette. 🙂
LOVE THE NEW LOOK QUEEN BEE!
I’m glad you like this one, Kathryn!
I always thought it was open for the week. In that case im always late! LOL. Lovely macro Lisa, and I hope you had a good Mothers day. It seems a little strange cos in the UK it was about a month ago. I wish they would synchronise! 😀
You’re right Amanda, it is open for the week, I just like to get mine in on Monday. 🙂 I’m glad you like my Macro and hope you had a nice Mother’s Day as well. It really would be nice if they were synchronized!
Yes thank you, and I really don’t know why they’re not. Who decides these things lol 😀
