Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

Silhouette

Some of our best hours in the Olympic National Park were spent exploring Second Beach on the Washington Coast.  The one mile forest hike to the beach from a small parking area is just enough distance to keep crowds away and the sound of roaring surf echoing through the trees is one we won’t forget anytime soon.

Love this picture. Not a total black silhouette — shows much of the landscape but also the black of the rocks. Nice composition.

Thanks, Rusha! The beach colors were so pretty I wanted to include them but thought the rock was enough silhouette to meet the challenge. I’m happy to hear you like it. 🙂

A beautiful stretch of coastline. Nicely captured. Reminds me of the rocks at La Push.

lovely shot.. at first i thought it was a ship grounded at the beach.. i’m sure it is huge because there are lots of trees on top.

This stretch of beach is filled with huge, stone sea stacks. Huge is a good word to describe how large some are!

Brilliant shot. Not too sure if it would be that safe to climb all the way up there 😀 It reminds me to the first scene in The Lion King that large rock and Simba on it 🙂

People do climb up these rocks but I’d rather enjoy the view from the beach. :). The Lion King image is a fun comparison.

I certainly am glad I did. WP has done this before and I was off for awhile. I will wait until you start again! I hope you do!
There is an APP called Photo Republic that I just joined. It sends a prompt once a day with a theme and you have 15 minutes to take a photo, then it closes. You see funny interpretations from all over the world! I look forward to it.
