1 Day 1 World Project: 24 Hour Review

Published by

on

When I wrote my first post in the 1 Day 1 World Project series I hoped I wasn’t promising something I wouldn’t be able to deliver.  Could I really write 24 posts documenting 24 real-life hours and still publish content that was interesting or worse, would it be like hosting the dreaded party that no one attends… Six months later I’m happy to report success, not only has this project been a great experience for my family I’m thrilled to see how many bloggers came by to read, leave a comment and even join in the fun through posts and adventures of their own.

I try not to spend too much time looking through my stats but when I decided to finish this series with a recap post I thought it would be interesting to see which posts came out on top in terms of views, comments and participation.  I know the results will change over time as some posts have had months to gain views while others have only been visible for a few weeks but as of tonight here is what I found.

If I narrow my stat search to the past 12 months I am delighted to see the Introduction at the top of my views list and that 10 of the 1 Day 1 World posts are currently sitting in my top 20.

My first goal was to write content that you found interesting and it looks like we did just that.  My second goal was to have a few of you join me in this crazy adventure and I’m thrilled to say plenty of you came by every week to share a view of your daily life. We had participants from 11 countries including Germany, England, Singapore, Australia, Slovenia, India, The Netherlands, Canada and America.  Many of these countries saw entries from more than one blogger and within the United States, Oregon, Texas, Illinois, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Virginia and Washington are represented.  Wow!

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has come by to read, comment and participate.  I’ve learned so much from each of you and though I’m sorry to see this series come to an end I know there are plenty of fun moments ahead for each of us to experience, capture and share!.

I never took part, but now that it’s over I am sorry to see it gone, though honestly I am not anywhere close to be able to participate in such challenge. Congratulations Lisa to you and the participants. This has been the most interesting challenge I have encountered so far 🙂

It was a really fun challenge to follow, Lisa. What a great wrap up report. You know what would be fun is to somehow, on one page, see all entries for the same hour side by side. A glimpse of that hour from different corners of the world in one view. Not even sure how to do that logistically, but thought it might be cool.

I’m so glad you enjoyed following the hours here, Nancy. 🙂 Posting entries side by side would have been something fun to try and I think I know a good way to do it but not sure if there are enough hours in the day right now to set it up properly… If I try something new later though I’ll definitely include some form of a participant grid. 🙂

Jude, I forgot to mention you were the one linking participant who had a post for every single one of our 24 hours! Your enthusiasm for the project was one of the keys that kept me going through the dark hours of the night. 🙂

Congratulations, Lisa. What an achievement. The hardest ones must have been the wee-hours-in-the-morning ones. Like some others, I didn’t participate but it was great to follow along and see you rise up to the challenge each week. You certainly got many of us excited through this project. Well done 🙂
