I’m pretty sure this “fresh” sign is meant to advertise freshly caught fish at Seattle’s Pike Place Market but each time I walk up this ramp I read the two signs together and think “fresh restrooms” below…

When we go to Seattle to the VA Hospital we always take time to go to Pike. Love it there.

Your photo captures lots of what I love about the market building: colorful neon, pattern of tiles and railings, and the details of the columns. A special place–even though the restrooms aren’t always fresh!

I always feel terribly sorry for women lined up to use the restroom in the Market, it’s the worst insult to injury I can imagine. However, one could argue it’s possibly balanced out by the fact the men’s restroom must be exponentially more revolting.

  Thanks, Naomi. 🙂 Ryan loves wandering through the stalls in all kinds of weather so we find ourselves there a lot in the winter. Summer is just too crowded for me unless we get a very early start…
