Picking a subject for Sally’s Challenger’s Choice week is always fun because with 11 categories to choose from pretty much everything I like to photograph fits the bill. To keep things interesting I try to move through Sally’s list without repeating myself and this month I settled on food photography. I know this is a bottle of cold brew coffee and not a pretty plate of food but in my family coffee is a food group and Stumptown Coffee Roasters is one of the best. Plus, this has to be the cutest coffee bottle I’ve ever seen.
Stumptown Coffee Roasters opened in 1999 as a small cafe in Portland, OR with a core group of coffee loving employees devoted to ethical sourcing, local roasting and fantastic cups of coffee. Their drip coffee and espresso blends are some of my favorites but in the summer Cold Brew tops the list and my milkman delivers it by the carton blended with milk and just a little sugar. We found these little brown “stubbies” on Father’s Day and Hipstamatic’s shake to randomize function captured the moment using Rudy as the lens and Stand Up as the film.
I don’t think i EVER seen coffee in a bottle lol! neat 🙂
There’s a first time for everything, Andy. 🙂
now that I seen it, I believe so! 😀
I’m on the same page as Andy. This is a first for me too.
… and you have a milkman? … and he delivers coffee? It sounds so civilized!
My milkman is amazing. 😀 The company delivers variety of local products including coffee, cookies, bread, cheese and fresh pasta sauces. Heaven!
That’s amazing! That kind of service is rare and extraordinarily valuable!
Looks cool and tasty.
It was. 🙂
My mother used to be the only person that I knew who drank cold coffee in the summer. Now it’s more popular. To see it in a bottle seems so twenty-first century. But maybe it isn’t. You still have a milkman. Oh, for those days to return–we haven’t had one since last century (boy, does that sound strange). Hipstamatic really gives the image the vintage feel that makes it seem like an older brand. Happy Photo Challenge.
Cold coffee in the summer is a nice treat and also handy to have along when you’re camping. Fresh coffee in the morning without having to heat up a stove or fire and water. 🙂 “Last Century” does sound strange but appropriate for a lot of things now…

this is cool! first time to see coffee in a bottle! great in the summer 🙂
Glad you like it!
I’ve never seen such a cute coffee bottle. I had to take a double take!! LOL Have a great day, Lisa! Love, Amy ❤
It is a cutie for sure, Amy! And easy for guys to carry too, their hands look very natural holding this brown bottle. 😉
Hehehehehe Too funny!!! 😉
I certainly did a double-take on THIS! I was already to bring out the chips and dips to enjoy a drink with you when “coffee” caught my eye. What an interesting marketing tool, my son would LOVE it, lol 🙂
They even serve cold brew coffee on tap, Joanne! Stumptown has a blend infused with nitro like Guinness and served in pint glasses. Very guy friendly. 🙂
This is blowing my mind and somewhere I’m DEFINITELY going to have to put on the “must do” list. I’m secretly hoping Hubby’s next project is in the States as it will make it SO much easier to visit all this interesting places! 🙂
If you make it to LA or Portland you’ll have to try this and let me know what you think: http://www.laweekly.com/restaurants/stumptowns-cold-brew-in-nitro-cans-is-beer-inspired-coffee-innovation-5521452
The bottles are a little easier to find outside of Portland and just as tasty. 🙂
I like this image, especially the shadow and the reflection of the lighting. Very cool, Lisa! 🙂
Thanks, Amy! I liked the shadows and reflections too and am happy to hear they work in the image. 🙂
Mmm, Stumptown! Love it! 😀
Perfect on a hot afternoon. 🙂
great use of shadows 🙂
Thanks, Joshi. 😀
Lisa, you have a milkman??? Very cool. I’ll be in LA (Pasadena) next week, so I may have to look for this, even though I’m not really a coffee drinker unless it’s got some added ingredients. Tea is more my tipple. But this would be fun to try.
janet
Let me know if you have a chance to try some, Janet and enjoy your time in California! We agree, having a milk man is pretty cool – we feel lucky every week. 🙂
Do you put some cream into it? In summer I prefer to put ice cream 🙂 The bottle is captured perfectly!
Yes, cream and a little sugar. 🙂 I’ve added cold coffee to ice cream as we’re making it but now I want to try your idea and make a coffee/ice cream float!
😀 enjoy it, Lisa 🙂
