This set of seven photos reminds me one more time that interesting things really can be found in the middle of a regular day. I started this random photo-of-the-day project during a dreary February week and here I am, six months later, still looking forward to going outside and finding something new every morning. Since we’ve passed the half way point I think I’ll keep the series running until February 2016 and finish the year with a fun collection of images documenting of how I really spent my time. Not just the highs and lows that live in our digital photo albums but the daily experiences that we think we’ll remember but always end up forgetting.
Sunday evening found Finn and I enjoying a quiet moment in the backyard as the sun started to come down and Monday evening I visited my favorite massage therapist for a bit of post-hiking rest and relaxation. Tuesday morning I found this sad little tree leaning away from a deep set of tire tracks and Wednesday morning I found this poor watermelon blown to bits by a handful of firecrackers. Do you think the same people who knocked down the tree blew up the watermelon?
Thursday’s photo is of our vine maples turning color weeks earlier than usual due to this stressful season of high temps and no water but Friday brought some much-needed rain to the Seattle area! Lego Star Wars fans might recognize General Grievous’ Flagship, The Malevolence and Ryan’s latest Lego creation is the subject of Saturday’s photo.
Each photo was taken with my iPhone 6 using Hipstamatic’s “shake to randomize” function then posted without any additional editing. If you like a particular combination and want to try it at home just click on the image to see the lens and filter used. For variety I continue to add new lenses and filters so if you want to try Hipstamatic but are unsure how to start let me know and I’ll do my best to answer your questions.
