Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Black and White (On the way to Wallace Falls)

iPhone Wednesday 8-19 B&W

One of the first things you see on the trail up to Wallace Falls is a set of enormous power lines and their two towers.  Instead of complaining how ugly they were I decided to treat them like the old growth trees we planned to see at the top of the falls and step underneath for a photo looking all the way up.

I’ll share some prettier images from our day in the trees soon but today this photo is my entry in Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge:  Black and White.

Wow Lisa, this is a fantastic shot. What a great geometric shape. I would never have guessed what it was.

Thanks, Jude! The geometry involved in these structures is pretty fascinating and looking up definitely gave me a new perspective instead of just feeling grumpy about how they intrude on the landscape.

Lisa, terrific perspective–the image is an architectural joy with angles and lines with negative and positive spaces. Truly well done. Happy Photo Challenge.

Awesome shot! I used to detassle (cornfield work) corn and one of the fields had these. I always worked faster under them to get away as they hummed and crackled. You got a great perspective here.

Thanks! It was such a big part of the scene I thought I should try to make the most of the view. 🙂 I don’t blame you for working fast to get out from under the crackling and humming.
