A thank you note to three very special bloggers.

I want to dedicate this post to three unique and talented bloggers who have kindly nominated me for awards during the past several weeks. This is a wonderful community here at WordPress and I feel very lucky to be a part of the group. Learning that people not only like to read my posts but have also chosen to follow me continues to be quite a special surprise. Wow!

The lovely Perpetua whose blog The Seeker seeks everything from faith to hope to charity nominated me for the wonderful, supportive Awards Straight From the Heart.  These awards are designed to encourage and support bloggers and come with no strings attached.

As part of Angie’s acceptance of her Because You’re Fabulous, Shine On and Awesome Blossom awards from The Seeker she chose to nominate me.  Thank you!  Angie fills her fascinating Moments in Your Life with truly unique photos from her travels around India, The Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia.

The beautiful blogger Sharynni at thedavinciapprentice kindly nominated me for the Liebster Award.  This award is shared as a forum to give bloggers who are in the beginning stages of their WordPress days a boost in readers and acknowledgement of great work.  Sharynni writes an interesting and varied blog about her fun adventures traveling and is filled with great photos and commentary on her life in Utah.

Please take a moment to look through their blogs and share their insights and views of the world around us.

Lisa

Thank You

Thank You
I want to share a big, belated, public thank you to several wonderful bloggers who have kindly nominated me for the following awards here at WordPress. My blog is only a few months old but I have experienced nothing but encouragement and support from this great community as I work to refine my blogging point of view, tell a few stories and share some favorite photographs. I was never very good at following all of the steps in these kind of letters when I was in school and sadly I don’t think I am going to get any better so this post won’t include my answers to the “write 7-10 things about yourself” questions that accompany these awards but I’m sure some of them will see the light of day in future posts.

SC Surf Butler nominated me for the Sunshine Award, an award for writing positive and inspiring articles and bringing some “sunshine into the lives of others.” SCSB’s blog is full of fun tips and inside scoop about the surfing community in South Orange County, CA and a lot of fun to read while dreaming about sand and sunny beaches.

Linda Arthur Tejara of Living With My Ancestors nominated me for the Liebster Award which is for bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers helping to highlight and promote new blogs.  When we newbies need a little boost to reach a broader audience this kind of a nomination feels great and is always welcome.  Linda is currently writing a fantastic series about the history of Yellowstone National Park illustrated with postcards from her Father written in the 1930’s.

Jayde Ashe of the Paperbook Blog also nominated me for the Liebster Award. Jayde is a fellow new blogger and this site is devoted to her love of books. Each new review and post sends me looking for my dog-eared list of books to pick up so I can add another promising read to my summer vacation.

Rose of How Do You Say Taco in Spanish nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, a way to create community among bloggers. Rose writes a truly funny blog about her experiences living in Mexico and her love of Coffee (yes, Coffee is a capitalized word here in Seattle). Her series of Tecate commercials are hilarious!

Your views and comments are more than enough encouragement for me but these nominations are a nice surprise and really help me feel welcomed into the community.  Thank you!
