1 Day 1 World Project: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

To kick off my new 1 Day 1 World Project I have this noontime view of Westlake Center in Downtown Seattle. Β This photo actually represents a few first moments for me as it is also what I saw during my first break on my first day in a new job. Β Its been 18 years since I’ve had a “first day on the job” experience but after the past 6 months of watching a company that felt like family be taken apart in a corporate buyout I am really ready for a new beginning… Β It was tough going for a while but now I’m happy to say I’ve landed in a great place and wake up each day excited about what is ahead.

If you have a photo or story to share about your 12:00 pm hour I’d love to see it! Β  Please tag your post 1 Day 1 World Project for easy reader searches and/or link your post in a comment below so we can all enjoy your view and together we’ll build a virtual 24 hour day filled with images from around the world.

If you’re new to the 1 Day 1 World Project please take a look at my introductory post here. Β This 12:00 pm post will remain open for new submissions until the end of Saturday, May 10th and a new post for the 1:00 pm hour will open for entries Sunday, May 11th.

Lisa, congrats on the new gig!! I can totally relate to the strangeness of starting something new, having previously worked for the Seattle (well, Redmond) based behemoth for 10+ years. It gets better! Plus, look at this view! Awesome!

At noon yesterday I was shopping at Sail a giant outdoor equipment store (like REI), in search of new hiking shoes. Scored a great deal in Salomons. Happy!

Thanks, Nancy! I thought about you and your new job a few times last week – Nancy can do it so I can do it! I’ll see this view a few times each week and then be in different locations the rest of the time but with a little effort I can find something interesting to look at every day.

Hooray for new hiking boots! Do you have a fun new hike in your future???

Still firming up my travel plans. We’ll probably head back down to Vegas in the next 10 days or so. It looks like we’re driving the monster truck back as we need a high clearance vehicle for some of the hiking destinations. If so, I’m thinking I’ll either do some cool hike in southern Utah or a Rim to River hike at the Grand Canyon. All still in flux, but hopefully the plans will start to gel soon.

Lovely processing Lisa – this almost looks like one of those computerised images for a new town! We have a May Fair in town this weekend so luckily I have something interesting for the first hour of this project. Hope you like it πŸ™‚

Thanks, Jude! I used a Hipstamatic filter/lens combination for this one and you’re right it does look a little like those new “your town could look like this” photos. πŸ™‚ Your May Fair shots are great fun, thanks for sharing and participating!

By the way I am assuming that the photo (or post) doesn’t have to be on the Saturday each week? Just at the specified time.

That’s right, Jude. It can be from any day in the previous week as long as it’s the right time.

I wasn’t able to earlier, but now I have the time. This photo is incredible. I love the angel you took it at, with the hole of blue in the clouds just hanging right in between buildings. The lines, the geometry of the overall photo blew me away. Thank you for this gift. Love, Amy
