Weekly Photo Challenge: From Above

From The Weekly Photo Challenge: Above. Change your perspective on something. Find a subject and instead of taking a picture from in front of, at an angle, to the side, or from behind, take it directly from above!

With Sara’s directions in mind I went outside looking for something that I don’t usually see from above.   I found a lot of weeds, rocks and some small flowers but I’m used to looking down on these things and my goal was to find a new view within my familiar surroundings.

From Above

Why does this view surprise me?  Well, this is the lower section of a broken fountain/waterfall in my front yard and it’s always full of green, slimy water and plant debris.  It wasn’t until I came right up to the edge and looked down that the water reflected the beautiful blue sky and canopy of green leaves rewarding me with a much different image from my usual view.  Maybe I should reconsider our plans to pull it out when we re-landscape this area in the next few months…

That is a great picture. At first glance, it appears as if you’re looking through an opening up at the sky! Very nice reflection.

Thanks! The reflection sure looks better than the smelly bunch of water that’s really there. 🙂

I enjoy the challenge for the same reason, the challenge of changing how I see the world around me. And thanks, I am feeling better. Everyone’s photos have vastly improved my mood! 🙂

Thank you! It isn’t as exciting as your helicopter ride but pretty just the same. 🙂

LOVE this shot!! It took me a minute to orient myself when looking at it, which made the shot that much more dynamic. So cool.
