My first few photos from our recent summer trip to Santa Fe are actually of snow-covered Mt. Saint Helens. This is the view out the airplane window as we broke through the clouds on our way from Seattle, WA to the high desert of northern New Mexico. For more unique views of the world please see the latest Daily Post: The World Through Your Eyes.
Great shot! Sucha winter wonderland.

You’re obviously able to get better shots out of an airplane window! And now, I’m encouraged to try, too! Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo! http://ohtheplaceswesee.com

My window shots are usually a pale comparison to the actual view too. Happily this one came through pretty clear! I’m glad you like it. 🙂

snow-covered Mt. Saint Helens – great view!
P.S.:
I’m still amused by the story of one of our blogging community: During the Mt. St. Helens eruption someone thought (walking through the dark): oh my good, it seems, they bomb Seattle!

I would love to hike on the mountain. My only views have been from far away but they are memorable just the same.

This is an eerily beautiful photograph. I think using a black and white makes it so striking!

Thanks! I was going to post it in the original colors but they looked a little flat. Then I remembered a photography tip that suggested images of snow look great in black and white. I decided to try with this one. 🙂
