While John and Ryan shopped for our stone steps I had a great time wandering around the property taking pictures of the old farm equipment, tree art and bird houses. This one looks like a deluxe summer home but the boards across the front windows and black and white coloration make me think of a spooky Haunted House. Appropriate for the first day of October…
At first glance I though the ground had fallen away from under an old barn. Nice bird house!

It does look like a house on the verge of collapse. 🙂 Pretty fancy for a birdhouse!

Amazing that the details of the bird house can throw off one’s sense of scale. Nice job on the photo. Two pictures based on perspective and how one sees it.

I’m glad you like it! I was surprised by the amount of attention paid to some of the details.

Me too. At first I thought it was a house tettering on a cliff.

Yikes! I love to take photos but I don’t think I would stand below a sliding house for a picture. 🙂

I hope so, but until you got a clear feel for the prespective, it did look ominous.

Lovely picture, but that house seems somewhat precarious to be staying or standing under, no? OH wait, a birdhouse? Too cool 😀

Gosh, that really does confuse perception. The bird house looks so very heavy, and imminent slippage threatened. Makes me think of something from a Russian fairytale – somewhere where Baba Yaga might live. Or perhaps she does…

Maybe she does live there… great comment!

I’m embarrassed to say, you had me fooled too. It really does look like a house about to fall off a cliff, until you investigate the “front door!” Nice job with the scale!
