Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh (Pike Place Market)

I’m pretty sure this “fresh” sign is meant to advertise freshly caught fish at Seattle’s Pike Place Market but each time I walk up this ramp I read the two signs together and think “fresh restrooms” below…

  1. Your photo captures lots of what I love about the market building: colorful neon, pattern of tiles and railings, and the details of the columns. A special place–even though the restrooms aren’t always fresh!

  2. I always feel terribly sorry for women lined up to use the restroom in the Market, it’s the worst insult to injury I can imagine. However, one could argue it’s possibly balanced out by the fact the men’s restroom must be exponentially more revolting.

    1. Thanks, Naomi. 🙂 Ryan loves wandering through the stalls in all kinds of weather so we find ourselves there a lot in the winter. Summer is just too crowded for me unless we get a very early start…

  3. cool take on the wpc – and well… there is something n ice to be said of a fresh restroom – ha! especial some public ones are so gross – 🙂

      1. well after I wrote that I read in the other comments about these particular ones – and the need to get here early – ha!
