We’re reaching the end of October and in a house where Halloween is everything even our simple, daily views are magically transformed into something spooky. This week I’ve included a few glimpses of our newest decorations and some surprising examples of ordinary moments seen in a new light.
Sunday is a shot of our stairway and the pair of crows who have come to roost. Monday is the Haunted Tarot table and Tuesday is a new mushroom just starting to open, framed with the random selection of Hipstamatic’s new Gongbi film.
Wednesday I planned to capture some of the pretty red leaves on our stairs below the deck but the combination of Hannah (lens), Shilshole (film) and Triple Crown (flash) added a level of creepiness I wasn’t expecting. Thursday is all about the skull and Friday is another image of spring plants blooming out of season. I don’t know where this single Camellia flower came from but Ryan and I found it all alone in the middle of the road during Finn’s early morning walk…
Saturday was a happier find when Ryan and I attended our local Library’s annual used book sale. Imagine an entire gymnasium filled with tables and boxes of books, CD’s and movies with the proceeds benefiting literacy and arts programs for the community. We filled several bags with hardcovers for $2.00 each and paper backs and movies for $1.00 each. So much fun!
Each photo was taken with my iPhone 6 using Hipstamatic’s “shake to randomize” function then posted without any additional editing. If you like a particular combination and want to try it at home just click on the image to see the lens, filter and flash used. For variety I continue to add new lenses and filters so if you want to try Hipstamatic but are unsure how to start let me know and I’ll do my best to answer your questions.
You definitely discovered a great find with those books! Now, that skull? awesome lol

That’s quite a variety of images, Lisa. Love the spookiness you’ve captured, and I can see a couple of book titles there which I still want to read. 🙂

Sounds like a good week so far 🙂 Will it be trick or treating or a Halloween party at the weekend?

Halloween Party this weekend. 🙂 Ryan’s feeling a little too old for trick or treating but still wants to enjoy the mood so we’ll have plenty of food and scary movies running all night long. 🙂

Sounds like you and Ryan are certainly getting in to the Halloween spirit. I really like the tarot card shot. I’ve always been fascinated by them, wondering how true their predictions are 🙂

They’re probably not very true but entertaining nonetheless. I think it would be fun to learn to do readings. 🙂 There will be a few more Halloween themed photos next week too…

Hate that I’m this close (relatively speaking) and can’t get to see you! One of these trips out I’ll have to time it to when you’re traveling to Van on business.
