I’m so happy February has an extra day this year! Really, I’ll need more than one day to catch up but I’ll make the most of what I get. 🙂
The third week of February started on a sweet note with Valentines day falling on a Sunday. We celebrated with a trip to the Lego store and finished the evening with a wonderful dinner by the fire. Monday was a holiday here in the US but I still had to spend some time at work so my quest for an interesting photo subject brought me by this retro-styled turntable. Tuesday you get another image from my morning walk with Finn and a little more insight into the invasive Ivy that is slowly swallowing the neighborhood. Wednesday brought Ryan and I back to the Orthopedic clinic for a treatment plan and Physical Therapy referral and by Thursday I was really ready for some blue skies and sunshine. Rain returned Friday morning but I have to admit it added a pretty shine to these fern fronds and Saturday afternoon we joined my family for a pizza party celebrating our parents February birthdays. This garden window view is of their back porch.
If you’d like to follow along in real-time I post my daily photos on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook but if a once-a-week blog read is more your speed my weekly recaps will continue here along with caption notes containing editing information for each photo.
Love your parents’ back porch. That little vignette on the side table has inspired me to look for some pretty things even though our skies are gray and it’s too cold to sit on our screened-in porch! Best wishes for a great March!

How is it you have an old turntable at work? It’s beautiful! As we drove into Seattle last weekend, through the bare trees I could see that entire hillsides are choked in ivy. I think we need to wage a war on ivy.

I wish the turntable was part of my work but it was just something I saw for sale as I walked to the car. As for the ivy a war is truly needed, it’s choking the life out of all the native trees and plants. 😦

As D’arcy asked, how do you have that turntable at work? It would be great if you were allowed to use it all day long and play the music you want 😀 Sounds like Ryan is along the mend, and hope he is doing well 🙂

Music of my choosing all day would be great fun, Mabel. 🙂 Unfortunately that’s not the case and this turntable was actually for sale in a store I walked past at the end of my day… Ryan is having his best morning in weeks today, thanks so much for asking. 🙂

I’m now inspired to get some bulbs of my own, Jude! We all need some pretty spring color. 🙂 Thanks so much for your well wishes, I share them with Ryan every time someone comments and it always makes him smile.

I like your parents’ back porch. It must be a pleasant place to sit on a sunny day. 🙂

The porch is a little small for sitting Bun but definitely a pretty place to feel some sun and watch the outdoors before fully committing to stepping out into the elements. 🙂

Your weekly recap is fabulous! A lot of work, but really good. I enjoy the stories behind the pictures as well as the visual treats. I have to say that my favorite for the week is the pic of Ryan…just wish it were under better circumstances.
