This week I don’t see a common thought tying these seven images together but there is a sneaky unifying thread about this group that surprised me. Brick red is definitely not one of my favorite colors but shades of loud orange-red are present in each shot. It’s all but hidden in two photos when my favorite blues and greens took over but it looks like I found at least one moment in every single day when I couldn’t avoid the color.
Sunday’s photo is proof that we don’t let a little thing like rain spoil a BBQ and Monday morning Finn and I came across this piece of litter on our walk. Marijuana may be legal in Washington State but it’s still against the law to throw your trash on the ground. 😦 Tuesday I did a little happy dance in the middle of the grocery store when I found my favorite candy bar back in stock and Wednesday I realized taking allergy medication right before going to the gym wasn’t the smartest thing I could have done but at least I didn’t fall of the stationary bike.
Thursday was opening night of the Seattle International Film Festival and Friday Ryan and I took our first beach walk since New Year’s Day! If you’ve been following my blog for a while you may know Ryan has been on crutches and mostly out of school since January with a hip injury but I’m thrilled to report his healing has taken a turn for the better and he’s back on his feet again. 🙂 To end our week John and I enjoyed our first spring market morning and our first stop was for fresh flowers. At $5 a bunch I wanted to fill the car but we settled on one mixed bouquet and an armload of peonies.
Coming soon I’ve got a great set of new photos almost ready to share here from our latest spring adventures and if you’d like to follow along in real-time don’t forget I post my daily photos on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. If a once-a-week blog read is more your speed my weekly recaps will continue here along with caption notes containing editing information for each photo.
We BBQ rain or shine, too! Glad Ryan is doing better … what a long road. Will he be able to make up school over the summer (doesn’t sound like fun)?

True PNWers BBQ in all weather! It’s been a long road indeed for Ryan, he’s working double time to try and catch up as much as possible but there is at least one class that might carry over through the summer… Oh well, at least it’s a viable option instead of being forced into a Fail.

I’m glad the rain didn’t stop you. Incidentally, I spotted the brick red in every photograph. Is there a prize? 🙂
