My Year In Pictures: December Week 5

The week between Christmas and New Year’s is typically quiet here with kids out of school, parents on vacation and all of us eating too many cookies while binge watching tv shows we missed during the fall.  I did continue to work through the week but in an effort to simplify things I chose to post a series of ornaments from our tree.

You can see we like sparkly glass decorations and as with any meaningful gallery each one represents a moment in our year so a quick recap of this set is as follows:  The wise old owl says breathe, look at Frosty go, yes I do have a wheelbarrow ornament but at least it’s filled with flowers, gnomes are great fun, smile and say cheese, robots are the bomb and Happy New Year’s Eve under the disco ball!

My next post begins the last month of this daily photo project so I’ll be back with seven new pictures in a few days but if you don’t want to wait please join us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. If you’d like to learn more about any of the images but you don’t follow me on these accounts please feel free to click here for IG, here for Twitter and here for FB or select a photo from the Instagram previews in my sidebar.  You don’t need an account at either place to view my photos, everyone’s welcome.

  1. Special Christmas ornaments are wonderful. The girls each have a lot and last year, our older daughter asked if I’d send hers to her once Christmas was over. This year, she used them to decorate a tree at her apartment before coming home for Christmas. We still have more than enough for a tree of any size. Your ornaments are lovely. I hope you and your family have a marvelous 2017!

    1. It must feel nice to know your daughter enjoyed her family tree while she was waiting to come home before Christmas. Ryan has a big box of ornaments that he knows are his too. We use them now but they’ll go with him when he eventually has his own place. 🙂 Thanks for the New Year wishes – I hope yours is wonderful as well!

  2. Very creative with your ornaments, and each one tells a story. Not just a Christmas tree for you, but a tree that also tells of what has been and done. The robot one looks very cute 🙂

Happy New Year, Lisa. Slowly the world is waking up from the holidays and hope you are still enjoying the last of it while you can. And make those cookies last 😀

    1. Thanks for your nice comments, Mabel. 🙂 The stories are my favorite thing about our tree and ornaments and it’s nice to know you “get it.” Our tree is finally coming down today so it’s time to really start settling into the new year. Cheers to a Happy 2017 for all of us!
