Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
Abraham Lincoln
Shadows come and go but like strong character, trees are what really leave their mark on the world.

I took this during an early morning walk in late summer, Andy so both quiet and peaceful. 🙂

Beautiful, peaceful photo. I was not familiar with the Lincoln quote, but it’s worth memorizing and holding close!

Such a thoughtful interpretation and a thoughtful quote, Lisa. Recognition and awards are something that happen in the moment and can be forgotten the next moment. But it is character and the way we are that will touch others the strongest and leaves the biggest impact. Beautiful lake, beautiful shot. It looked liked a lovely day for a walk 🙂

Thank you, Mabel. I liked the point about character being the biggest impact too.
