Iceland days 9 & 10, Reykjavik. Colorful street art, coffee shops, pastries and pancakes. A great city!

Iceland, day 8, Reykjavik. We left the countryside and our driving days behind to begin the our first of several days in Reykjavik. The weather was picture perfect and we hit the big tourist spots first to check them off our list. Hallgrimskirkja, Sun Voyager and Harpa Concert Hall.

Iceland, day 7, South Coast. Our last ring road day began at Diamond Beach followed by a beautiful hike to Svartifoss and time at Reynisfjara, the black sand beach. We ended our day with 2 big waterfalls, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss before relaxing in our last night out in the countryside.

Iceland, day 6, East Fjords. A wet day but full of beautiful views and fun experiences. We skipped the big lighthouses and found this tiny one through a field, spotted our first herd of reindeer and watched the glacial ice float by at the Glacier Lagoon.

Iceland, day 5, Myvatn to Seydisfjordur. A long driving day that began in a geothermal field that looked otherworldly and smelled like sulfur. Next up was Deffifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe followed by a scary drive over a twisty mountain pass without guard rails in whiteout fog. We ended the day in a cozy hotel though with pretty views, a great dinner and another wonderful waterfall. The last photo was taken at 2:30 am!

Iceland, day 4 Hofsós to Myvatn. Today’s drive was a beautiful combination of the oldest church in Iceland, fjords, fishing villages, one lane tunnels 🫣, waterfalls, hot springs, a cave and finally our tiny house on a farm with sunset at 11:00.
