Walking along the beach is one of my favorite things to do on a Sunday afternoon and yesterdays visit was picture perfect. Edmonds has several waterfront parks open to the public 365 days a year and most of them display quirky, fun pieces of public art in unexpected locations. It doesn’t matter how many times I have seen them, I always return home with a stack of new photos…
The 4th and 5th Monday of every month are Challengers Choice at Lens and Pen by Sally’s weekly Phoneography group.
Public art is a gift that we give to our communities. Really liked this sculpture–happy Phoneography Monday.

Great question Rusha! And I’m happy to say I don’t have the answer because that means I will keep being surprised and amazed every day. 🙂

Thanks for your comment Naomi. I am planning to go back this week when the parks are a little quieter to get some new photos without having to crop out my fellow beach walkers. 🙂

I find it ironic the artist added the ever present bird to the top of the sculpture. The only thing to make the picture more interesting, or maybe funny, is if a real bird was sitting on a sculpted bird.

I’m sure it happens often, there are seagulls everywhere. 🙂

The sculptures made me chuckle. Hope that the birds were just standing, not pooping too 😉

Thanks. 🙂 I hope so too, but there is enough around from the real seagulls!

This made me laugh 🙂 Birds freak me out and the very thought of someone standing there so calmly while a bird perches on their head is funny – especially two people with two birds 🙂
I’m glad I got here just after Evelyn, because I got to go back and see the ships. Great shot!
