The days are getting shorter and shorter here in the Pacific Northwest and as I look out my window to nearly dark sky at 4:20 pm I thought this black and white image was a fitting choice for today’s post. The birds are still flying but the light is almost gone.
Wonderful picture. Amazing how an image with so little in it can carry such weight. Love it!

That is a great picture! Birds don’t always make the most cooperative subjects. Kinda like our black cat Shadow. In his case it is a contrast problem but he thinks he has stealth fur. 😉

The phrase “stealth fur” makes me laugh. 🙂 Birds definitely are a challenge but I find I have better luck if they are moving. Still ones never work out for me!

Quite lovely. I’m just thankful we finally caught a break this afternoon. Dry weather for the next few days but VERY cold.

I’m looking forward to the next few days of dry weather too and it has finally started to feel like winter. Crisp, cold air all around.

I have tried to capture birds in flight so many times, without success. I love this photo!

Thank you Rob. Funny story – I was getting frustrated with the birds “photo bombing” the pictures I tried to line up so I decided to start shooting them instead. There are a few that turned out ok and this is my favorite.
