One of the things I love about Heather is its determined nature, blooming right on schedule no matter the conditions. This little plant flowers in my front yard every winter providing bright spots of color in a season filled with green, brown and white.

i really love this shot. Heather grows against all the elements in scotland, so NW US must be a piece of cake 😉

LOL. I wonder how it would fare here, with no rain for weeks and high thirties and low forties (Celsius) day after day!

Those conditions might be a little too much for it. 🙂

What beautiful heather, and of course it takes more than a little snow to deter these Scottish beauties 🙂

Oh yes, it’s plenty tough enough to stand up to snow. 😉

Beautiful photo. It’s so easy sitting here in sunshine listening to the cicadas, to be envious of snow and all the wonderful “photo opportunities” it creates – but I hope that you are all ok and not suffering too hard in what seems like a tough winter. 🙂

Thanks Sue, fortunately our winter hasn’t been as difficult here as in the eastern US but I do miss sitting in the sunshine. 🙂 Enjoy your summer!

I think it’s incredible that they bloom despite the temps.
The snow looks real pretty sprinkled on the violets.
Sweet !!!!
