Ya know, I realize spring doesn’t come to the PNW until May, and summer until July 5th, but I am so ready right now. And truth be told, it’s simply been an average winter. I would be thrilled to see a daffodil in nature right now. But I love seeing these cattails. So pretty.
This is from the Edmonds Marsh an urban saltwater estuary and bird sanctuary. There are boardwalks for birdwatchers to safely observe the habitat and it’s part of the City of Edmonds Parks. We were there last weekend in the cold rain because I wanted to see it in winter. 🙂 Next trip will be a warmer afternoon…
Thanks. I wanted to show a little more of the setting to let everyone know this is an urban marsh but tried to do it without words. I’m glad you got it. 🙂

I would trade a daffodil for cattails today. 🙂 I’m ready to leave this wet/cold behind too!

Great shot of the cat tails. Way to much rain here today too and looks like the whole rest of the month is going to be a wet one.

I’m glad you like the cattails Ruth but I wish we had some sunny days ahead to enjoy them.

I always try to appreciate winter’s subtle colorations, but I’m with you–daffs would be better!! 🙂

Thank you. I knew it was the PNW, likely WA state, and probably north of Seattle as many of your shots are from that region. Enjoyed it!

I’m glad you liked it Eric and you’re right, most of my photos are from the areas north of Seattle. 🙂

Beautiful scene. Is there much wildlife there in winter?

Yes I think so but it was so cold and wet this day everyone was hiding. 🙂 We did see a few hummingbird families.
