This is why when I hike I leave as early as possible. I have had the top of many mountains and the shores of many rivers and lakes to myself cuz of an early start
Wonderful! I’m an early morning hiker too, anything to avoid crowds. 😉
I simply love Snoqualmie.!!! Though I do also like the 7 course breakfast at Salish 🙂
This reminds me, I’m probably due to take my boys there sometime soon. I think it must be a rite of passage of sorts to take your kids there every so often while they’re young. My favorite time of year to go is autumn. I like combining a stop there with a longer outing up the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road.
Andra, here is a link to the Washington Trails Association description http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/snoqualmie-falls and we followed their directions pretty carefully until the part about not climbing down to the river below… Access is closed when the water is running too high but everything was open when we were there. Follow the trail to the lower falls/river area, walk down the boardwalk and follow the last hill to the river. This shot was just a little way down from the main access point, looking up the river toward the falls. I’ll have a few more photos from the area over the next week or so but let me know if you have any more questions! It’s just about 30 minutes from Seattle and spring would be a great time to visit. 🙂
Beautiful..! 😊
Thanks, Andy!
Love the sunlight streaming in from the left – simply glorious! 🙂
Thanks, Joanne the light was so pretty this morning!
Love a good river pic! NICE!
We were there at just the right time, Tony. Lot’s of people hiking down when we were leaving but it was quiet when we wanted to enjoy the river. 🙂

Oh wow, the 7 course breakfast sounds amazing right now!
It truly is amazing 🙂
Great photo, Lisa. I like how the rocks lead your eyes to the river and further! Beautiful blue sky and clouds.
Thanks, Amy! I wish we could have stayed on these rocks for hours looking at the water, light and sky but at least I took some photos for memories. 🙂
Gorgeous photo. I just love how you captured that sliver of light dropping down into the river. Sheer brilliance. Great capture with the phone 🙂
Thanks so much, Mabel! It’s great to know our phones can capture a little of these scenes when a big camera is too much to worry about. 🙂
I actually thought you took this photo with a SLR until I saw your tags. Amazing how you captured and made the water sparkle too. Magnificent 🙂
Beautiful place, Lisa. Lovely photo. 🙂
I’m glad you like it, Sylvia!
such a refreshing sight, Lisa! Love it!
Thanks so much!
the flare adds to the beauty 🙂
Thanks, Joshi. I couldn’t avoid the flare so I decided to just go with the flow. 🙂
beautiful, Lisa!
Thank you, Lola!

I’ll make a note to return in the fall and hopefully we can include a trip to the Middle Fork road. Thanks! I hope you get up soon with your boys. 🙂
Where are you? I have to go there. I love the angle and how you captured the rocks.
And I understand in general where you are, but specifically where?

Just perfect! I too love the rocks in the foreground.
So nice to hear, Joanne! Thanks!
What a perfect photograph! I love the streaming sunshine.
I’m glad you like it, Cindi!
