The fourth week of every month is Challenger’s Choice at Lens and Pen by Sally’s Phoneography and Non-SLR Digital Devices Photo Challenge so for March I’ve chosen this shot of the upper walk way through Seattle’s Bus Tunnel and Westlake Station. I visited the tunnel a few weeks ago looking for material to finish a day of random shots for my “shake it to randomize” project and while I eventually selected a black and white image of the a large clock for my recap post I’ve been waiting for this week to share my favorite color shot looking down the tunnel.
This capture is full of design elements that are made to stand out or recede because of the lighting. That lighting makes for fascinating contrasts and tones. You’ve chosen a marvelous location into the unknown. Happy Photo Challenge.

Thanks so much, Sally. I always like walking through here while watching the different reflections and shadows and it’s nice to have an element of design work in a public transit setting. 🙂

Very cool image Lisa. I love how the designer connected the floor to the light to the wall decorations. The circular light is a contrast to the geometric shapes on the floor and creates an very cool reflection on the floor. What an amazing space.

Thanks for your comments, Patrick. The geometric shapes and interesting lighting are what draw me here too. 🙂

Lisa, I really like the art deco feel of this shot and all the shapes you caught. It of course invited me to go further into the photo, a great effect as well.
