Brie Anne Demkiw – The Daily Post
During our walk to the grape vines from my previous post we passed a colony of bees harvesting pollen from this lovely border of sedum…
Posted as part of the Weekly Photo Challenge: Close Up
What an AMAZING capture – I’m so jealous as all I ever manage to capture with the bees is their butts! 🙂

I was so surprised this one worked, Joanne! We’d just finished a lovely afternoon wine tasting and I saw the bees in the garden. No wind to move the plants and this one patiently waited for my shot. 🙂

What are the flowers, they look similiar to tuber roses but they aren’t. Glorious~

Thanks, Cindy. The flowers are sedum and they are at their peak in late summer. The seed pods are pretty through winter too and provide plenty of food for native birds.

I love this shot! Such great texture and delicate color. Why is it that a close up of a bumble bee is endearing, but a close up of a spider would creep me out? I always have a hard time with macros.

Spider close ups creep me out too, D’Arcy and macros of anything are always challenging… Most of the tie my shots are too blurry but this one is pretty clear so I thought I would share. 🙂
