My Year In Pictures: May Week 2

Published by

on

We’ve turned the corner into the middle of May and as spring fades to summer our family focus has been on growth and new beginnings.  A quick scroll through this set of seven images really highlights what’s captured my attention:  pretty, soft colors, natural science and good health.  We’ve enjoyed fresh new flowers growing in the spring sun, Ryan’s hip continues to heal through hard work and physical therapy and his favorite school subjects are always natural science.

I went out alone for a pretty walk on Mother’s Day morning while John and Ryan cleaned the house and Monday morning Finn and I stopped by this plant to capture one pretty bloom.  Tuesday afternoons mean it’s time for the first of Ryan’s twice weekly Physical Therapy sessions and Wednesday I had this beautiful view as a reward for making time to go to the gym for my own good health.

Thursday was a stretch for me as I helped Ryan catch up on some missed Biology homework and Friday night I snapped this photo of the final day of my beautiful Mother’s Day Peonies.  Saturday brought rain but these red maple leaves look pretty in all weather conditions.

Coming soon I’ve got a great set of new photos almost ready to share here from our latest spring adventures and if you’d like to follow along in real-time don’t forget I post my daily photos on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. If a once-a-week blog read is more your speed my weekly recaps will continue here along with caption notes containing editing information for each photo.

Oof, Biology. I regret skipping that course back in school. Had the option, but was too lazy ugh!

Crazy how it’s already May isn’t it? few more months and we’ll be back into the good old west coast cold :-\

I took Biology but hardly remember anything so helping Ryan was really a stretch. 😦 My fingers are crossed for a beautiful summer so hopefully the inevitable cold and wet won’t bother us so much…

Nancy, I’ve been thinking about you lately! How fun to know we’re both enjoying the same flowers at the same time. 🙂 Please tell your family hello from us!

Such gorgeous blossoms, luxurious blooms. We have cold and wet, too, and it seems off.

Hi Liz! Glad to read your blogs once again. We’ve just started the rainy season here in the Philippines, we don’t have four seasons. Enjoy your coming weekend!

You don’t lack for beauty, Lisa! That peony shot is a stunner 🙂 Such a long haul with your Ryan. These things happen so swiftly and take forever to repair. I’m glad you use this weekly format. It’s a great way to look back and see the good as well as the not so. And I’d never keep up with daily posts! My intentions are good but I seldom get to FB and Instagram. Sending hugs! 🙂

Thanks for the hugs, Jo! 🙂 A weekly format is working here for now but one day I hope to get back to a few more posts a week on the blog. FB and IG are nice too but different… On a bright note Ryan has had a great week and is finally walking again after 4 months!
