My Year In Pictures: January Week 4

Published by

Wow, after 2 years and 730 daily photos I can finally say this project is finished! Β I’ve enjoyed the practice of taking and posting one photo for every day of the year but now that it’s over I’ll admit to feeling a little overwhelmedΒ by the pace ofΒ creating 30 new photos every single month. Β Scaling back to a few per week seemsΒ a lot more realistic and I’m looking forward to a lighter schedule,Β posting when I want and jumping back into some of the challenges I’ve missed.

Instead of 7 images and 1 full week we’ve got a super-sized gallery of 11 to finish out the year andΒ I like the stories that they tell. Β We start withΒ a street performer in Seattle, a sleepy Finn and a beautiful sunset. Β Ryan and I sat together in the car on a clear, cold night unable to leave this view while the radio played an acoustic version of David Bowie’s Space Oddity. Β My last 7 shots are an exploration of the soft blues and grays that make up so much of our Pacific Northwest winters. Β For editing I reached back toΒ some tried and true favorites so you see one shot processed with Oggl and the rest were finishedΒ with VSCO. Β All images were shot with my iPhone 7+.

If you’d like to see the whole year again I’ll have a dedicated page posted soon to join my previous years recaps from the 1Β Day 1Β World Project and A Surprise Every Day with Hipstamatic.

Good for you, Lisa. It’s been fun. This week, although I like the gallery a lot, I really love the header photo. Is this the same blog theme? Looks good, whether old or new.

I’m happy to hear you like the gallery and header image, Janet! I recently changed my theme to Lovecraft and it allows for a header on the home page as well as featured image ones on each individual post.

I’m so impressed with the schedule you maintained for two years, Lisa! I look forward to seeing what you’ll be interested in showing now that you have lightened your daily expectations. I suspect your eye is now so expertly trained you will be tempted to continue adding to your portfolio. πŸ™‚

Yes we do, Sally. It’s eye-opening to realize how many small moments I’ve forgotton already. The photos are definitely doing their job.

I get the feeling you’re looking forward to warmer weather to enjoy those beach scenes, am I right? But our water views are beautiful any time of year. Congratulations on your completion of this photo-a-day goal!

Warmer days can’t come soon enough, D’Arcy I’m freezing today! Our snow is almost gone though – I hope yours is clearing up too. πŸ™‚
