Weekly Photo Challenge: Escape

This was a long day spent trying to escape from our escape… They call it Shallow Bay for a reason!

Seven adults, three kids and one dog bring a lot of gear to camp for a week.

Later that afternoon we finally left the island only to lose power out in the open water. The Coast Guard came to check on us.

The second call to Vessel Assist ended in a four hour rope tow back to our Marina.

  1. The last time we were in a boat, we ran out of gas in Oyster Bay. Thankfully, one of the home owners was nice enough to help us out, though adding the gas in waist deep water was not a preferred method to do it….

  2. THAT is an amazing story!! I would have been scared . How did the kids handle it? I am not a deep water person so thats an escape indeed!

    1. The kids were the most relaxed of all of us! The Coast Guard gave them coupons for ice cream since they were wearing life jackets and it made a great story to tell their friends.
