A Word A Week: Roof

Published by

In a June post I wrote one of the things I love about travel is the chance to experience a brand new view in very normal moments. Walking down the street and people watching in cafe’s are two of my favorite “normal” locations and as a result I spend a lot of time pointing my camera up to the sky capturing roof lines and clouds that are so different from what I see here at home.

These roof top views are from the area around Santa Fe New Mexico and posted as part of Sue’s A Word A Week Challenge:  Roof.

You’re making me homesick. I grew up in Albuquerque and miss the architecture that is unique to Northern New Mexico. Especially on days like today when we are stuck in a rather stubborn marine layer here in the Gorge. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the Land of Enchantment.

You’re right, there is something very special about Northern New Mexico architecture. I take more pictures of buildings than anything else every time I visit. We had a great time last month and plan to return again and again… Marine layer in place here today too…

I love this – I’ve been meaning to do a ‘rooftops of London’ post! Such a different way to experience the city, by looking up instead of straight ahead…

Catherine, I can’t wait to see your rooftops post! It is so nice to look up instead of straight ahead and the rewards are pretty skies and a great change of view. 🙂

Looks like a scene from a Clint Eastwood cowboy movie! Great shots! 😀

Good comparison! Many western cowboy movies have been filmed around there. 🙂

If you saw Cowboys and Aliens with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig it was filmed in New Mexico. My aunt knows several of the stunt riders and local people who worked on the movie. 🙂

Of course I saw it and I loved it! Your aunt is so lucky. I would have loved to meet HF in person. 😀
