Even though it’s hard to believe February is half over I have a new group of 7 random images to share marking the passage of each day in this little month. My “shake to randomize” Hipstamatic project is turning out to be more fun than I expected and not only am I discovering some new lens/film combinations I wouldn’t have tried I’m also learning to slow down and take a closer look at small moments in my day hoping to uncover an interesting detail I might have missed rushing by on the way to another task.
Feb. 8th was a night spent with Algebra homework. Thank goodness Ryan has a great teacher because this text-book is bringing back all kinds of memories from my school days and the thought of helping with the next 4 years of homework is more pressure than I need… Feb. 9th is a photo of the speed limit sign I walk past 6 times every day making slow, quiet circuits with Finn trying to find the right balance between exercise outside and safe interactions with cars, new people and tiny creatures. Feb. 10th is from The Dahlia Lounge in Seattle where I met my parents for lunch celebrating my Dad’s birthday. If you’re ever in Seattle all of Tom Douglas’ restaurants are wonderful but The Dahlia Lounge is my Dad’s favorite.
Feb. 11th is a shot of some heather blooming in our backyard and even though the wrapper on Feb. 12th’s Raspberry Oatmeal Bar says it’s free of pretty much anything good I am happy to report they taste wonderful. 🙂 Feb 13th shows you I parked on the Bangkok level of a parking garage in Seattle and on Feb. 14th Ryan and I made a quick trip to our local bookstore for some Valentine’s Day cards.
Like last week these photos are all straight from Hipstamatic’s “shake to randomize” function and posted without any additional editing. If you like a particular combination and want to try it at home just click on the image to see the lens and filter used. I’ll be back next Sunday with 7 new photos and maybe even a few new favorites!
I love the look Hipstamatic gives. And what a great way to memorialize your days too.

These are very cool. I’m going to have to see if my phone has this feature. I don’t own an iPhone, and my Android is a few years old.

I’m glad you like them. :). If you can download the Hipstamatic app you can set it to randomize from your settings. Have fun!

Even though I haven’t been there for quite a few years, I recognized that lampshade immediately! And we just parked on Bangkok level the other day! I just looked up Hipstamatic and it’s available for Androids, too. I’ll have to read up on it. Playing with the effects would be fun.

Thanks, Amy! Every piece of decor inside this restaurant is pretty. I even took photos of the napkins but had to choose just one image for this post… maybe I’ll share more later. 🙂

Even the napkins, Wow!! I’ll have to tell my hubby about you shooting napkins. 🙂

Such an inviting shot, that first one, Lisa. I thought I was popping into your home (and you had the smart salt and pepper pot ready 🙂 ). Belated happy birthday to your Dad! It’s an interesting concept, though I don’t suppose I could begin to replicate any of them.

If only my home were that inviting, Jo. 🙂 Thanks for the birthday wishes, I’ll share them with my Dad and it’s great to hear you like the concept behind these photos. 🙂 Not being able to replicate them is actually part of the fun for me, I like the surprise element!
