I know summer’s right around the corner when I can count on a quick trip through our local garden market to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables. This morning we filled our bags with apples, strawberries, rhubarb and big bouquet of peonies picked fresh a few hours earlier. The house is full of their sweet, clean scent and I’m already thinking of a new list for next weekend. 🙂

Indeed, our Farmer’s Market started a few weeks ago. I use it to supplement the vegetables that I do not grow. Your image is a perfect example of the lush and vibrant colors of fresh ingredients. I’m a true proponent of buy local. Happy Photo Challenge.

I wish we had a vegetable garden here, Sally but my yard is too shady. At least I can support local farmers each week at the markets and it’s nice to hear you do too. 🙂

Amazing color contrasts, Lisa. The farmers market is a family affair every Thursday evening here in my corner of the world. I’m fortunate that it is only three blocks away. 😊

Three blocks is the perfect distance, Patrick. That much he a nice walk from your home to the market. 🙂

Vegetables and I have a tense relationship, though I’ve come light years in my middle age. These veggies, by the way, appear not only fresh but well-cushioned…….

I love to grow veggies and even take photos but must admit, I’d rather eat fruit. 🙂

Those veggies look so fresh and inviting you to pick them up. Lucky you, all in season. It’s winter here in Melbourne and it’s the complete opposite here 😀 Good one with the iPhone. Beautiful capture and such clarity in the shot.

Gee, now aint that sweet. Thank you, WP. I had a comment (another one) and pfft it disappeared. I said I have SO many pics of peonies because I went a bit nuts one evening taking image after image. And I could have taken more. LOL I have a post coming as well this week of one of my white peonies. I hope to see yours and I hope you see mine. 🙂 ❤

Do you eat some of these raw? Is that Swiss chard? I love all the green stuff – leafy veggie. Vibrant shots that remind me to treat my body better 😀 Thank you, Lisa 😉

I didn’t eat any of these, Paula but you’re right Swiss Chard is one of the bunch. It’s fun to realize the veggies with the deepest colors have the most nutrition but I was in a fruit kind of mood this trip and settled for strawberries and apples. 🙂
