Fall in the Pacific Northwest is a season of extremes. We bounce back and forth between stunning blue skies, mild temperatures and bright fall foliage contrasted by extended periods of damp, cool fog. This misty afternoon happened back in October 2013 but the photo is one of my favorites and I’ve been wanting to revisit the image in monochrome. Thanks to Sally’s weekly photo challenge today’s the day. 🙂
Northwest Frame of Mind 
Love this. I’ve been in San Diego for 10 days. Been hot and muggy. I am missing my Oregon changes. But I’ll be home on Tuesday, so I can’t despair.

The photo is definitely effective in monochrome, emphasizing the moodiness of that afternoon. The trees even seem as though they were posing for you. Happy Photo Challenge.

Thanks so much, Sally. This was one of those moody days after a week long stretch of fog and the air was silent and still. It made photographing the trees easy though without the wind blowing them out of focus.
