The Simplest Pedestrian

Published by

Far better to be the simplest pedestrian, with knapsack on back, stick in hand, and gun on shoulder, than an Indian prince travelling with all the ceremonial which his rank requires. Jules Verne

Substitute the above mentioned gun for a trusty slingshot and Jules Verne perfectly describes Ryan’s preferred method of exploring.Β  As soon as his hand could hold a nice, long stickΒ  he insisted on at least one along with a little backpack every time we left the house.Β  The sticks now live by the door and his backpacks are larger but the habit remains.Β  If we’re going adventuring he’s ready with stick and supplies.

What is it about boys and walking sticks! I still have my favorite one! AND Michelle won’t let me have a sling shot 😦

The stick gene is strong, Tony. πŸ™‚ Sorry about the sling shot though… maybe you could sneak a tiny holster onto your bike?

As soon as I saw the picture after reading the quote, I saw the fit, but I’m left wondering, where is Finn?

Finn couldn’t make this trip with us but he was missed, Patrick. The drive and ferry trip out to the island was too much for him but I’m holding out hope he makes it one day 🐾❀️
